When i was reading an article an on techfreakstuff.com , I got a code to send direct message to anyone (who follows you ) on twitter . In an email , you can always send a message to your own email address but Twitter’s web site will not allow you send DMs to peoples who are not following you – means you cannot send direct messages to yourself.
I don’t know this is a bug or what , I tried to send DM to myself using two methods one allows me to send direct message to myself but another one did not allowed .
Method 1.
http://twitter.com/direct_messages/create/twitterusername This will allow you to send direct message to anyone who follows you but you can’t send DM to yourself (It will not show you any error but will not send DM, and automatically redirects you to homepage) .
Method 2.
But when I use this code : d your-own-username message-to-be-send , I was successful to send DM to my own account . I used yoono to send DM to myself .
Here is what I got after sending done on yoono .
But it’s don’t complete 140 characters, it’s count the “d” and the “space” and the longest of “username” .
We can use self-DMs to store small bookmarks on a Private place .Do you think this is a bug ? let us know through comment box .
