Multi author blog are the ultimate and a best way to generate a great amount of articles fast and big traffic to your blog. Setting up a powerful multi author blog doesn’t need just creating new profile to that author, you got to do something to manage fine tunings with this co-authors.
WordPress is great platform to setup your blog as multi author blog. Plugins are plays an important role in multi author blog. To manages co-ordination between the authors, to show authors details within their article, to show all authors bio to the outer world and in many cases this multi author plugin helps the blog developers to control strongly their blog.

If you use Adsense on your blog, it is an easy way to share the profit with them through this plugin, if you are not paying them directly.
AdSense Revenue Sharing is a wordpress plugin which allows you to easy display ads in your posts by using a quicktag and share your adsense impressions with your friends and co-authors.

3. Author Advertising plugin
Another option similar to above plugin is the Author Advertising plugin which does the same task. Allows blog admins to create a revenue sharing program utilising one of the many advertising programs out there i.e Yahoo, Google Adsense, Amazon, Allposters etc. It can also be used as a banner manager, author photo/website widgets.. actually it has about a zillion uses.

8. Authors Widget
In multi author blog, Particular user wants to read the article about some of authors then, some algorithm should be their to sort author’s articles by their name. Its easy for user to jump directly to their article of particular author.
Authors Widget shows the list or cloud of the authors in the sidemenu.The author image plugin for WordPress lets you easily add author images on your site.
9. Author Image
This is another plugin, I love this plugin as it allows you easily add author images on your site. It creates a widget that you can insert in a sidebar.
10. KNR Author List Widget
Displays a list of authors, contributors, editors, and administrators on the blog as an ordered list, unordered list, or a dropdown list.

11. Author Avatars List
This plugin makes it easy to display lists of user avatars on your (multiuser) blog. It also allows to insert single avatars for blog users or any email address into a post or page.

12. Post Avatar
Post author lets your authors stand on their own by adding an avatar to the start of their respective posts. It simplifies the process of including a picture when writing posts. Authors simply choose from a predefined list of images in the Write Post page to display an image in a post. A template tag displays the image with The Loop.
13. Get Author Profile
Get Author Profile is a pretty basic WordPress plugin that lets you manually access an author’s (i.e. user’s) profile. The main purpose is to let you provide author information outside The Loop, such as for a sidebar intro of the blog owner or to list contributors to your blog.

14. Audit Trail
Audit Trail is a plugin to keep track of what is going on inside your blog. It does this by recording certain actions (such as who logged in and when) and storing this information in the form of a log. Not only that but it records the full contents of posts (and pages) and allows you to restore a post to a previous version at any time.
This is particularly useful if you’re a micro-manager, or if you just want to know that your team is working. Audit Trail gives you access to a constantly updated list of every action that’s taken place in the WordPress dashboard from a user logging in to a post being published. It lets you see faulty logins (helpful in a case of attempted hacking)
15. Blog Metrics
This plugin calculates the following:
- average number of posts per month
- average number of words per post
- average number of comments per post without your own comments
- average number of trackbacks per post
- average number of words used in comments to posts
and it calculates the same data for the last month, and for each author too! Includes a widget for your sidebar too!Blog Metrics displays the specs of your blog, including number of posts per author, average words per post, average comment length, etc.
The reports are very easy to understand, you can get everything you need to know at a glance from the WordPress dashboard.

16. Dashboard Notepad
This is a text box that sits on your dashboard’s home page, and allows all users to write a note, and save it for the rest of the users to see. This is helpful if you will be doing site maintenance and need to alert your co-authors.
17. WordPress Admin Notepad
WordPress Admin Notepad automatically creates a show/hide notepad toggle at top right corner (beside log out link) so that admin can save their notes no matter where they are.
You can now configure the permission to view or edit the notes for the 4 user levels (editors, author, contributor and subscriber).You can now save the state of notepad (visible or hidden)

18. Private Messages For WordPress
A good alternative to the admin message board is ‘Private Messages For WordPress’. The plugin allows any user to send messages to one another via your blog. You can determine how many messages each user group gets and even switch the feature off altogether
A great way to keep your authors informed as they will see their messages whenever they view your blog when logged in.

With so many authors, your typical comment highlighting plugin may be a little confusable for multi author blog. Also, if your authors comment on each other’s posts, it may be confusing to your readers who are trying to engage in conversation. Author Comment allows only the author of that specific post to have highlighted comments, making it simple for readers to recognize who to address or respond to.

Use this feature to make sure that you’ve completed everything that you should have.

This plugin adds post statuses such as assigned, pending review, pitch and waiting for feedback. You can also add your own custom statuses.This plugin helpful to improve editorial approval process.

The plugin also adds a range of new user groups such as reporters and copy editors.
If you have a lot of authors then you should check out Edit Flow as it will make your editorial process much smoother.
24. Hide Dashboard
This plugin lets you hide dashboard features from some users. The title just say it all.

Great list! I had not seen Future Calendar before. I think it would be great when used in conjunction with Editorial Calendar, which gives you a great full-screen overview of scheduled posts.

Hey mate, all listed plugins have their different usage and features, choosing plugins its totally depends on your usage.How can I know which plugin your blog will need ? And Author exposed plugin will be good in that categories.Dashboard notepad plugin is what I prefer to use. And other categories doesn’t have many option. Hope you satisfied with answer.
